This qualification has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in the creative art of cutting men’s hair. Within this unit you will cover the different factors you need to take into account when cutting hair, necklines into shapes and techniques to achieve modern and traditional barbering looks.  You will learn how to carry out a full consultation with the client, identify any contraindications to prevent or restrict the treatment.

The unit is about the precision cutting skills involved in barbering to achieve a variety of looks and neckline finishes for men using club cutting, scissors over comb, clippers over comb, thinning and freehand techniques. In this unit, razors will only be used for removing unwanted hair outside the outline shape.
